Course Selections

• Complete the On-Line Theory (this is done in the comfort of your own home)
• DOT Medical Exam (not included in the course price)
• Take the Learners Permit Written test at the DMV this must be completed before coming to the Academy for the Behind-the-Wheel Training (not included in the course price)
• Minimum 15 hours of Behind-the Wheel Training, the instructor will sign off on the training once he/she feels confident that you will pass the skills test at the DMV
• Schedule the Behind-the-Wheel Skills Test at the DMV (we will schedule once the instructor signs off the training

The Required 160 hours of Training; Theory (which you complete in the comfort of your home and generally takes about 3 weeks to complete), after you complete the theory; at this point (unless previously received) you will need to get a CDL Medical Examination and go to the DMV to take the written test for your Permit. After passing the test(s), you will attend the minimum 15 hours of behind the wheel driver training at our facility located in Westminster, CA and Safely Clean and Maintain the vehicle. This includes pre/post trip inspection, range and road driving. One the last day of the behind the wheel training, your information will be submitted to the FMCSA portal and a CA DMV form DL1236 will be given to the trainee to take to the DMV on the Skills Test day. The cost does include, if needed, one trip to the DMV with the instructor with one of our vehicles.

Yes, the rates are as follows:

• Class A with Trailer Rental is $1000 
• Class A without Trailer (Manual Restriction Removal) $800
• Class C with Air Brakes or Non-Air Brakes is $1000

This depends on the trainee. The theory can be done from 3 days to 3 weeks, then the behind wheel is usually completed in roughly 2 weeks, and the Skills Test Day depends on the openings with the DMV Location. The average trainee is within 30-45 days.
